7 years of drought. 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7….. and counting. Can you imagine that? No rain, at all- nothing more than an a tease of a drizzle every couple of months.
Now picture this, living in a remote village in Mexico that last experienced rain 7 years ago. All the wells in your village start to run dry because the water is that low- and the little water left tastes awful because of the concentration of minerals at the bottom of the well. Because water has become so rare, your village stops growing its own food, making fruit and fresh vegetables a rarity that would draw a crowd upon its sighting. Rice has become a staple because it is cheap and more readily available than anything else- and with that comes health complications for the people of the village.
THIS is the reality of the people of Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. In particular, this WAS the reality of the kids at Foundation for His Ministry (FFHM), a Mission that is home to about 80 children, that we have partnered with. Through this partnership, the USANA True Health Foundation will be providing fresh fruit and vegetables to the children- with specific attention to ensuring that each child has at least one piece of fruit everyday. In addition to this, the Foundation has committed to supplying the Mission with clean water that will be used for all drinking and cooking needs.
This comes following an earlier commitment by the Foundation to provide a consistent supply of Usanimals to the children at the Mission.
All in all, we are so proud to be providing food, clean water and nutrition to FFHM in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. We look forward to meeting all the healthy children during our next service trip in Mexico!
Remember, 100 percent of all donations made to the USANA True Health Foundation ALWAYS go toward changing lives across the world.
