Message from the President

To our supporters,

There is a great deal happening in our world: conflict, economic strain, division, and communities recovering from crisis. I feel that personally, not just as the president of a foundation, but as a husband, father, and neighbor.

In the midst of it all, I am deeply grateful for what we are accomplishing together. This year, we reached more than 120,000 people, approximately 24,000 families, and provided over 7.5 million meals. Those numbers are significant, but the stories behind them matter most.

On a recent visit, our team helped a farmer who is blind build a Garden Tower. He worked confidently, carefully feeling each step, asking thoughtful questions, and declining special treatment. When it was complete, he stood with his hand on the tower, smiling and imagining what he would grow.

That spirit defines our work. No matter the challenges around us, we continue to show up where families need food and hope.

Your support provided more than meals. It delivered tools for self-reliance, practical skills, and new income opportunities. I have seen firsthand how access to something that grows can restore dignity and renew possibility.

When I say we could not do this without you, I mean it quite literally. The USANA Foundation is your impact in action. As we look to 2026, my hope is that even more families will feel their worth and know they are not alone.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Brian Paul

President, USANA Foundation

The need

A world where too many families still go to bed hungry

The Garden Tower journey

From struggle to self-reliance

As harvests increase, so does a family’s confidence: better nutrition, and simple income from sharing or selling surplus produce. It is a powerful cycle that turns one small garden into lasting stability.

  1. Qualified families selected

Local leaders identify families ready to grow their own path to self-reliance.

  2. Educated and trained

Families learn to plant, water, compost, and care for their towers.

  3. Garden Towers set up

Families build and plant their towers alongside partners and volunteers.

  4. Challenges solved

Partners stay close to help with pests, water, and seeds as the garden grows.

  5. New opportunities introduced

Surplus produce opens doors to sharing, selling, and small businesses.

  6. Progress is tracked

Partners measure harvests and well-being so every tower keeps growing.

Eveline’s story: a new beginning, grown from hope

Eveline once lived on the streets with her husband and three children, unsure where their next meal would come from. Through the Garden Tower project, she learned to build and maintain a sustainable food source for her family.

Today, her children are in school, her family has a stable home, and Eveline is helping others in her community build the same path toward self-reliance.

This year’s service trips

Serving and growing together

For more than a decade, service trips have brought Brand Partners, donors, and supporters together to build Garden Towers, teach nutrition and self-reliance, and strengthen local food programs.

In 2025: the Philippines, Mexico, and Malaysia.

Iloilo & Guimaras, Philippines

77 Garden Towers · about 85,000 meals a year

In March, 17 volunteers from Canada, Malaysia, the United States, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and the Philippines built Garden Towers with local leaders Roff and RN Pastilloso and Rowena Tamagos, serving families along the San Isidro River and scholarship families on Guimaras Island.

Volunteers met recipients like Juliet, a mother who now saves enough on groceries to buy her children school supplies.

Baja California, Mexico

19 Garden Towers

In October, USANA employees and Brand Partners built Garden Towers for families facing severe food insecurity. One mother, Maria, raising seven children on her own, shared that some days she simply cannot provide enough food. When the team returned a few days later, her yard was cleaned and her new towers lovingly tended, a touching reminder of why this work matters.

In the second year with Humanitarian Experience (HXP), youth volunteers served in rotating two-week groups from June through August, building towers morning and afternoon in hot, humid conditions, then learning how each tower would be cared for long after they returned home.

Celebrating global impact and unity

World Service Week 2025

This June, the USANA Foundation family united across continents for a week of service. From Manila to Cebu, Malaysia to Mindanao, teams provided food, school supplies, hygiene kits, toys, medicines, and Usanimals to children, seniors, and families in hardship.

Thousands of participants joined projects tailored to local needs. Volunteers said the experience changed them as much as the people they served.

USANA Brand Partners in action

Sewing hope

During incentive trips in Hawaii and Las Vegas, Brand Partners stepped beyond celebration into service, sewing Garden Towers by hand and learning how each one is stitched, assembled, and prepared for a family.

The towers they made were sent to Malaysia for the HXP youth service trip. Every act, every stitch, helps build a more nourished future.

Partners and Garden Towers across Canada

Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg & remote communities, Canada

The Compass Food Bank in Toronto serves more than 1,850 people each week through a self-select grocery model. In Vancouver, Food Stash Foundation rescues surplus perishable food, and Richmond Food Bank supports 1,200 households weekly.

Through Harvest Manitoba, we supported emergency food delivery to remote northern communities and Meals2Go breakfast kits for 5,000 students each week.

Garden Tower build days across Winnipeg

Planting hope: Garden Towers in Winnipeg

RIFIM and the University of Manitoba installed 200 Garden Towers across the Rainbow Community Garden, Gordon Bell High School, and with refugee families, while Brand Partners Deanna Waters and Robbie Swaffer built towers with IRCOM for families in apartments.
