I am sure we each have someone we look up to for one reason or the other in life. From career, to family life, to personality, among other things. That said, have you ever met someone who inspires you just by who they are and what they stand for? Like, before they even DO anything?! Well, Dr. Foo is one of those for me. My mind is literally blown EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I hear his name in conversation, because it is always followed with news of some out-of-this-world thing he is doing and inspiring others to do as well.
Last weekend, Dr. Foo took a team down to a northern Malaysian village that had been cut off by recent floods.
Already an undeserved population, the floods were not handled well by the village.
An outbreak of scabies ensued, followed by a widespread epidemic of head lice and malaria.
The team was able to treat over 150 children and adults, spending the entire Chinese New Year holiday in service, rather than from the comfort of their homes in Kuala Lumpur.
