A timely break

Nadia is a loving mother in Ukraine who has received help from the Food Pak ministry at a critical time.  Her husband is disabled and unable to work.  She has two boys, Vlad, who is eight, and Denis, who is three.

As our local volunteers began to visit Nadia’s family, they learned about Denis’ physical condition and need.  The young boy has a condition called congenital Symphalangia in his hands and feet.  His individual fingers and toes need to be separated by surgery.  For the problem to be corrected, Denis will require ten surgeries, each costing $400 USD. The average salary for a fully employed worker is less than $200/month, but because of his own disability, Nadia’s husband is unable to even work part-time.
