Building To End Child Hunger

Making Sure No Child Goes Hungry

The mission of the USANA Foundation (formally the USANA True Health Foundation) has always been to ensure impoverished children and families reach their fullest potential by providing food and nutrition. So when USANA was presented the opportunity to partner with, and eventually acquire, what is now USANA Kids Eat, it was a no-brainer.

USANA Kids Eat is a local, Salt Lake City-based program with a mission to eliminate hunger in Utah schools by providing backpacks filled with non-perishable, easily prepared food to ensure kids have enough to eat outside of school hours. Since combining forces, both Kids Eat and the Foundation have shared space in the USANA corporate office. Although we have extended our impact to support even more schools and organizations, our reach has been limited.

But this is about to change for the better. Construction is currently underway on a new, dedicated space at our USANA Home Office. Kids Eat and the Foundation will call this space home beginning December 19, 2019. With this larger, established location, Kids Eat will be able to provide more food bags by opening food packing opportunities to corporations, community groups and individuals.

“With hunger growing in our state, more and more schools are requesting our support,” says Michelle Benedict, Kids Eat engagement manager. “How exciting it is to have such amazing resources headed our way to help us grow! With the completion of the new facility, we will be able to expand our reach, feed more kids, provide more service opportunities, and have a place to rally the community in the fight against hunger.”

We are dedicated to the goal of making sure no child goes hungry, but the need is great, and we can’t do it by ourselves. Community is at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to partnering with our many wonderful neighbors in the Salt Lake Valley.

“The new space is a physical representation of how passionate USANA is about giving back to both our local community and communities all around the world,” adds Eric Davies, USANA Foundation donor engagement manager. “The building will give employees, Associates, and members of the community a chance to help provide crucial food support to those who need it most.”
