Meet the Navaja family from the Philippines

For the past three months, our volunteers in Cebu City in the Philippines have been serving a 15-year-old boy, named Harvey Navaja, and his family. Harvey has four siblings: Harold who is 17 years old, Hanes who is 12 years old, Henry who is 6, and Harley who is just 4 years old. Their parents, Edgar and Christina, are expecting their sixth child. Our volunteers first met Harvey when a team was teaching in the public school he attended. Phase 2- Empowering the Children, Philippines

  Remember that one time we shared a post about a great program we were working on in the Philippines?! Ok, ok- if you don’t remember, you can read about it here. Now, remember how we mentioned that we were hoping to expand that program? Great news! Drumroll please………! September 24th is the official start of a similar, but even bigger program in the Philippines! Stories of Hope in Asia

Journey with us to a remote village of Thailand named Hua Hia. This Hill Tribe region, north of Chiang Mai is home to about 80 families. Ajar Mos, a pastor in the area, has been visiting one of these families every month for some time now, delivering food. This family struggles to put food on the table as it is difficult to find paying work. Receiving food allows them to worry less about where their next meal will come from while the father of the house strives to look for work.
