What a week! Let me just say, you guys – Int’l Convention ’16 was OFF THE HOOK! Not one that can be replicated (I totally always say this about each convention, only to have my mind blown all over again the following year.) A glimmer of hope in Ukraine

Elizabeth is nine years old and lives in Ukraine with her mother, Galina, and her grandmother. When she was only five, her father left the family and attempted to renounce his parental rights so that he would not be required to pay child support. The local court forced him to continue to pay, but he has neglected to do so. The government gave Galina a temporary pension of about $15 per month, but it wasn’t enough. Nauda from Belarus

Nauda is a foster parent in Belarus who cares for seven children, in addition to her own son. Recently, she opened up her home to two more children in need, bringing in a brother and sister. Citizens of Belarus still live under an oppressive dictator. In the midst of extremely harsh circumstances, Nauda and her children have been able to find joy and hope. Some of this hope has come through the faithful service of our local volunteers, who visit the family twice a month to bring Food Paks. Meet the Bhujel family

On the banks of the Manohara River in Kathmandu, Nepal, lives 12-year-old Samjhana Bhujel and her family. Samjhana has two sisters, ages 10 and 5, and one younger brother, just 6 months old. When our local partners first met this girl, she was in a desperate state. Lacking the basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter, this child and her family struggled to survive. Her father fought to provide for his family, collecting plastic and glass bottles from garbage bins in an effort to earn a living. However, it wasn’t enough.
