Meet Olga from Belarus

Olga is a working mom, who strives every day to provide for her family.  Her husband, Alexander, also works hard at home, to take care of their son, Vladik.  Vladik is handicapped, but it wasn’t always that way. Vladik was riding in a car driven by the parent of a friend.  The parent had a heart attack while driving and crashed. Meet our youngest donor yet- Eva! At only 10 years old, Eva is rocking the boat with her donating game! I mean we all probably attended a Halloween party or two, but how many of us can say that we raised enough money to provide 848 meals for people in need internationally while we were at it? Probably not many of us, but Eva sure can!  Last Halloween, she hosted a special party, where she requested that her friends bring donations. The Hoshim family in Tajikistan has been experiencing great hardship for some time now. Their father moved to Russia to look for work but unfortunately, he rarely sends money back, leaving the family to provide for themselves. With five young children, the mother, Svetlana, is busy just trying to take care of her little ones. The oldest boy, Ikrom, who is not even ten years old, now feels the heavy burden of providing for his family. Svetlana from Ukraine

Svetlana lives in a small town right outside the conflict zone in Ukraine. Her hometown is riddled with violence due to the fighting between the Ukrainian Army and the Pro-Russian Rebels. Even after fleeing her home, she could not escape the dreadful effects of war. Artemovsk, the town she where she currently resides, has seen two battles within the village. The home of Svetlana and her family is surrounded by buildings that have been burned or destroyed. A glimmer of hope in Ukraine

Elizabeth is nine years old and lives in Ukraine with her mother, Galina, and her grandmother. When she was only five, her father left the family and attempted to renounce his parental rights so that he would not be required to pay child support. The local court forced him to continue to pay, but he has neglected to do so. The government gave Galina a temporary pension of about $15 per month, but it wasn’t enough.
