How You Can Help the USANA True Health Foundation

We can’t believe 2016 is here! There was so much that happened with the USANA True Health Foundation in 2015, and we cannot wait to see what 2016 has in store.

Moving into the new year, we’re fully aware what a challenge it will be to top the contributions made in 2015, but we’ve witnessed how much all of you are willing to pitch in. Your kind spirits and passion for giving is unstoppable.

A look back at 2015

So let’s talk about some plans for 2016. One of the ways to make this year even bigger is by increasing the programs we are involved in and providing more opportunities for our donors to be a part of our work. Whether it’s through local and international service trips, volunteer FoodPaks all over the United States, or individual fundraising—it’s entirely up to you to decide how to get involved.

Speaking of fundraising, we have to give a huge shoutout to Ms. Priscilla Freed in Colorado for putting together such a fun boot camp last October to raise money for the Foundation.

Following that, Dan and Nanc Christy put up a successful golf tournament fundraiser in California for us in November.

And don’t forget the “Lori-Palooza,” where Lori Guest chose to forgo birthday gifts and instead ask for her party goers to donate to the Foundation.

Ever wondered how you could help raise funds for the USANA True Health Foundation? Here are some helpful tips to get you started.

Steps to Planning a Successful Fundraiser

Type—Identify the kind of event you would like to host. Is it casual or formal? Will the participants be adults, children, or both? Does the chosen event represent your cause well?

Goal—How much money would you like to raise? How will the funds be raised? Oh, and make sure you set realistic goals. It’s good to go big, but raising money can be tough.

Time, Date, and Location—What time of year will your event be held? Will the weather be favorable to the kind of event you have in mind? Where will the event be held? Do you need to file for a permit?

Budget—How much will it cost to put your fundraiser together? Will you need to pay for your venue? This can get tricky. A common mistake is investing too much in the event and actually losing money in the end. Always see if you can find people who are willing to let you use their business or services for free in order to help a charitable cause.

PlanningAdvertising—How do you draw in the maximum number of participants? Will you use social media, flyers, personal emails, or all of the above? Would a local advertising business be willing to help? Try contacting us—we might be able to help!

Set-Up—What is the best presentation for your fundraiser? The set-up includes all of the details of the actual event: Where will it be? Will food be served? Will there be entertainment? What kind of dress will be required? What is the itinerary for the event?

Multiple Opportunities to Give—Diversify your fundraiser. A raffle or a silent auction, in addition to the main fundraiser, is a good way to do this. Additionally, you may have concession stands whose owners commit to donating a portion of their proceeds to the foundation.

Follow Up—Make sure to thank all of your guests, volunteers, and donors. Share their contact information with us so that we can send them a personalized thank you note!

We Need You. We Really Do.

This year, the Foundation needs YOU to be an active champion. Get some friends and family together and have a good time supporting a great cause. A garage sale, a movie night, a murder mystery dinner, an auction, an art show, a car wash, a bowling night, a wedding—just about anything you can think of can be turned into a fundraising event!

One hundred percent of every dollar you raise will go toward helping humanity. And, as always, visit our website to learn more about the foundation and how you can support our mission.

Happy belated new year from the USANA True Health Foundation team!
